The Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted an orientation session for the DAHW-funded project, The project’s field-level staff in Herat on December 19, 2023. This session disseminated information on assessment methodologies, data collection, and post-project feedback mechanisms, including the forms used throughout the assessment sessions.
The assessment and beneficiary identification were concluded on December 25, 2023, under the Malteser International-funded “Emergency Relief Assistance for the Earthquake Affected Families in Herat Province, Afghanistan” project. A total of 550 families have been identified in 5 villages of Zinda Jan to be covered under the Food Non-Food, and Dignity package’s distribution. These families have been severely affected by the series of earthquakes and endured significant human, asset, and capital losses.

All 540 identified affected families in villages (Sya Ab, Kushkak, Qalai Nawak, Kajkal, Wardaka). within the Zinda Jan district of Herat province have received the allocated Food Non-Food and Dignity packages.
